Poland + Albania + Balkans + Rome | 15-Day Itinerary
Start with a direct India-Poland gateway, move efficiently by Polish trains, use Tirana as the Balkan base, then return to Schengen through Rome for a strong final sightseeing and India-flight logic.
Detailed 15-day programme
India to Warsaw
Overnight: Warsaw
Fly from New Delhi or Mumbai to Warsaw, preferably on a direct LOT service when fares make sense. Keep the first evening light with an Old Town walk, Castle Square, and a simple Polish dinner.
Warsaw full sightseeing
Overnight: Warsaw
Explore Old Town, the Royal Castle area, Castle Square, Barbican lanes, Lazienki Park, and the Palace of Culture viewpoint if the weather is clear. Evening around Nowy Swiat or Krakowskie Przedmiescie.
Warsaw to Lodz
Overnight: Lodz
Take a morning train to Lodz. Discover Piotrkowska Street, OFF Piotrkowska, street art murals, and Manufaktura. Present Lodz as a different, creative side of Poland.
Lodz to Krakow
Overnight: Krakow
Travel by train to Krakow. After check-in, visit Main Market Square, Cloth Hall, St. Mary's Basilica area, Florianska Street, and enjoy a gentle Old Town evening.
Krakow city day
Overnight: Krakow
Spend the morning around Wawel Hill, Wawel Cathedral area, and Vistula river views. Continue to Kazimierz Jewish Quarter, cafes, local food stops, and relaxed Old Town free time.
Auschwitz-Birkenau only
Overnight: Krakow
Use the full day for an Auschwitz-Birkenau guided visit from Krakow with official or reputable licensed arrangements. Keep the evening quiet and respectful, without heavy sightseeing.
Krakow to Tirana
Overnight: Tirana
Fly to Tirana if the direct schedule matches, with Katowice or Warsaw as practical fallbacks. Check in, orient around Skanderbeg Square, and spend the evening in Blloku.
Tirana city and Albanian heritage
Overnight: Tirana
See Skanderbeg Square, Et'hem Bey Mosque area, the National History Museum area, and the Pyramid of Tirana. Add Kruje Castle and bazaar, or Dajti cable car if the group prefers a lighter scenic day.
Berat day trip
Overnight: Tirana
Prefer Berat for its white Ottoman houses, castle area, and photogenic old-town atmosphere. Shkoder can work as an alternative for lake views and a softer northern Albania day.
Ohrid from Tirana
Overnight: Tirana
Start very early for a long cross-border day to Lake Ohrid. Visit the promenade, Old Town, Church of St. John at Kaneo viewpoint, Ancient Theatre area, and return to Tirana at night.
Kotor and Budva
Overnight: Tirana
Use a private tour if budget allows. Focus on Bay of Kotor, Kotor Old Town, scenic viewpoints, and Budva Old Town or shoreline if timing and traffic allow.
Tirana buffer day
Overnight: Tirana
Keep this as recovery time for cafes, shopping, Bunk'Art if missed, or a Durres beach half-day. An ambitious Prizren, Kosovo add-on is possible only after entry rules are reconfirmed.
Tirana to Rome
Overnight: Rome
Take a direct Tirana to Rome flight, ideally in the morning or early afternoon. After check-in, visit the Pantheon area, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps depending on hotel location.
Vatican City and classic Rome
Overnight: Rome
Use timed entry for the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, then St. Peter's Basilica if queues and security allow. Continue with Castel Sant'Angelo, the Tiber walk, Trastevere, or historic center free time.
Ancient Rome and flight to India
